Food Bank

There is a food bank in St Edmunds Church in Shipston, open from 10 till 12 on  Saturdays.  Please take items to donate to the food bank.

Join our Facebook group 'Stretton-on-Fosse Online'. We have an account so that Strettonites and friends can use it for comments about the village and events, advertise events, sell or re-cycle or ask to buy items, lost and found, start conversations about what interests you about the village, suggestions for the village hall and parish council, fund-raising, post photos etc.

The next Cream Teas is on Sunday 20th August from 3,30pm in the village hall. All welcome.

September Cream Teas on 17th.

We are intending to re-start the popular Soup lunches in October - watch this space!

Next Parish Council meeting: 7.30pm Monday 11th September in the village hall meeting room.

Next Village Hall Committee meeting Tuesday 12th September, 7.30pm in the meeting room

BUY LOCAL!

Every year we sell our Stretton Apple Juice - made solely with apples gathered in and around the village.  The bottles cost £2 each and are available either outside 11 The Green (at the crossroads) or in the village milk and eggs cupboard.  We are able to keep costs down because so many of you return the bottles (rinsed) to the crate outside 11 The Green.  Every penny of profit goes to help projects in the village.  If you want to collect larger numbers of bottles please text 07850 314161 or ring the bell at 11 The Green.  The 2023 vintage will be available from late September!

Our village honey is also for sale (the bees visited your gardens to make it!). The 2023 honey will be available from 11 The Green.from early October You can reserve your honey by texting 07850 314161.  If you can return the jars that would help keep the costs down - beekeeping is a very expensive business!

 Crime and Neighbourhood Watch:

Contact Penny White on 01608 663811  or by email:  pennywhite@white.star.co.uk to be kept informed. Do report anything suspicious to her or directly to the police (101 for non-emergency).

The parish council gets regular reports of suspicious activity and crimes from the Shipston police which can be passed on if Penny has your email address. NB you do have to send your email address to Penny – being on the parish council newsletter list is not the same thing!

You can also sign up to the Shipston Rural Watch for reports from the police e.g. suspicious vehicles etc at: Shipston.Rural.Watch@warwickshire.pnn.police.uk
